Can A Drone Deliver Your Parcels? TechEagle Is Making This Possible

TechEagle, a DeepTech startup offering drone delivery solutions has recently launched ‘Vertiplane X3’– the FASTEST (Fast - Agile - Safe - Terrain friendly - Economical - Secured - Tested) hybrid e-VTOL drone made in India at the E-Commerce Logistics Summit held on  20 April 2022, in Mumbai. The drone was unveiled by Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Amber Dubey.

Industries across the globe need a faster and more robust supply chain network that should be facilitated by a faster vehicle and this drone is built to provide that. Apart from the industries, many niche problems, like unavailability of basic amenities in hard-to-reach areas, delay in deliverance of healthcare cargo like blood, and last-mile urgent deliveries associated with a poor logistics network can be rectified by deploying drones.

The company says that Vertiplane X3 is going to be the first drone inducted into our On-Demand Drone Logistics Airline. The Vertiplane X3 is an electric vertical take-off and landing (e-VTOL) drone that has hybrid capabilities of a helicopter and an airplane, allowing it to take off and land vertically like a helicopter without the need for a runway in a space as small as 5m*5m. When the drone reaches the cruise height and speed, it operates like an airplane until the destination and switches back to helicopter mode to land.

Specifications/Features

Talking about the specifications of the Vertiplane X3, the drone can carry a cargo of up to 3kg and deliver to a distance of up to 100 kilometers at a maximum speed of 120 km per hour. It can operate in high altitude mountains up to 4500m (AMSL) and extreme temperatures from -15 °C to 60 °C. 

The drone is also equipped with triple-redundant communication to operate in all sorts of geographical terrains like radio frequency, cellular networks, and satellite communication, if one communication method fails another one automatically takes becomes active. 

Cargo Box in the drone is cold-chain enabled (2°C to 8°C) and fitted with features such as temperature monitoring and data logging for better safety of payload and compliance with regulations.

The features on the Vertiplane X3 increase its usability for a variety of applications across industries, including healthcare, maritime, defense, e-commerce, and hyperlocal.

The drone will be controlled and monitored by the in-house developed cloud-based fleet management software which can operate hundreds of drones at a time and from anywhere in the world using 4G/5G* connectivity with very less human interference.
