An Autotech company and a player in the used car market, Cars24, has opened its second Research and Development Centre (R&D) in Bengaluru, Karnataka, a mere six months after the launch of the first one, to advance innovation, growth and building an ecosystem.
This advanced facility is dedicated to advancing solutions for inspecting, refurbishing, and reconditioning used vehicles. Powered by state-of-the-art AI algorithms, the company is hopeful that this centre will set new industry standards by ensuring precise vehicle valuation.
These centres will also play a pivotal role in analysing data related to pre-owned vehicle sales and market trends. Leveraging statistical models and machine learning, they will forecast future demand, identify growth opportunities, and optimise pricing strategies. The platform is also on a hiring spree, actively seeking talented engineers, developers, and technology experts to join its team.
To lead the charge in technological advancements and fuel our growth, the company has also appointed Shobhit Shrivastava as the Senior Director of Engineering. In this new role, Shobhit will lead the engineering team, driving innovation and elevating the technology. His responsibilities extend to overseeing the AU tech initiative and fostering collaboration with business, growth, and product teams.
With nearly two decades of experience, Shobhit has consistently led high-performing engineering teams and has worn various hats at global organisations, including Amazon, Autodesk, Smarsh, Autonomy, Dassault Systemes etc. His expertise spans scalability, distributed systems, big data, Java, Hadoop, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
What sets Shobhit apart, is his entrepreneurial spirit, honed as the co-founder of B2B SaaS startup, Sogage Software. His passion for assembling and leading innovative teams is a valuable asset that he brings to Cars24.
