Tyre manufacturer Continental Tyres unveiled the new CrossContact H/T (H/T = Highway/Terrain) in India. The tyre is developed with a particularly durable design, tailored for driving on- and off-road.
Its multiple ranges cater to various rim sizes, from 15 inches to 18 inches in diameter. The variants are now available in India, and the complete portfolio will be available to the market in the coming months.
Samir Gupta, Managing Director of Continental Tyres India and Head of Central Region, stated, “With the multipurpose pattern, low road noise, and improved tread life, the product greatly fulfils Indian drivers' needs and ensures a safe and comfortable ride across various Indian terrains."
The new CrossContact H/T is designed with a multi-purpose tread pattern to handle the daily challenges of a passenger car, crossover, and SUV tyre, as well as a product developed for use on asphalt. In addition, the tread, rubber compound, and structure are designed to be robust enough to easily handle rides on mild off-road terrain.
To provide additional grip when driving on loose stones and uneven tracks, it has "grip teeth”, the small protrusions in the tread grooves, on the tire. These provide the necessary grip on non-asphalt tracks. Furthermore, the sensitive tyre shoulders have been made particularly strong to prevent damage from stones and screeches.
Providing low rolling noise for better ride comfort, its tread design reduces the noise level inside and outside the vehicle by around 10 per cent compared with its predecessor.
