Driving In Lockdown 3? Here Is All You Need To Know

As per the guidelines issued with the announcement of Lockdown Extend for the next 14 days till May 17, Cars are allowed in Green zone areas to move with only three persons per vehicle including driver.

In red zones movement of vehicles is permitted for some essential and unavoidable activities. Private four-wheelers with two passengers in addition to the driver, as well as two-wheelers without pillion riders, are allowed to move on roads. However, these relaxations will not applicable to hotspot areas and containment zones.

The private mode of transportation for essential activities is also allowed in orange zones with the condition of four-wheeler vehicles having a maximum of two passengers in addition to the driver. Taxis and cab aggregators with one driver and two passengers are allowed in the Orange Zone. However, inter-district and inter-district buses are still prohibited in the Orange Zone.

Any type of vehicle movement for non-essential activities is completely prohibited between 7 pm and 7 am. For this, the local authorities have been directed to issue orders under the appropriate provisions of the law, such as the Restrictive Order (Curfew) under Section 144 (Criminal Procedure Code) of the CrPC.

As far as Inter-state movement is concerned, MHA still maintained the completed ban on individual travel during the period of lockdown.

Buses with a seating capacity of 50 percent can operate and no state or union territory (UT) will stop the movement of cargo for cross-border trade treaties with neighboring countries in the Green Zone during lockdown 3.0, this is the first such step after a continuous shutdown of 37 days across India.

As per the guidelines, bus depots can operate in the green zone with up to 50 percent capacity, which till date would be districts with zero confirmed cases or no confirmed cases in the last 21 days.
