Hyundai Will Launch 26 New Models By FY30 - 6 Electric & 20 ICE Vehicles

The company also plans to introduce hybrid powertrains and ramp up capacity with its upcoming Pune plant

South Korean carmaker, Hyundai has reported solid profitability and a robust performance despite a challenging macroeconomic and global environment in the fourth quarter and full fiscal year of 2024-25,

For FY25, Hyundai posted a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 56,402 crore with a margin of 8.1 per cent. EBITDA stood at Rs 89,538 crore, reflecting a healthy margin of 12.9 per cent. In the fourth quarter alone, PAT reached Rs 16,143 crore with an EBITDA margin of 14.1 per cent.

Hyundai’s domestic volumes stood at 5,99,000 units, while exports were sustained at 1,63,000 units.

SUVs and EVs Lead the Charge

The company’s performance was largely driven by its SUV portfolio, which saw a record contribution of 68.5 per cent to domestic sales. The Creta continued its dominance in the midsize SUV category with a market share of over 30 per cent. The launch of the Creta Electric marked Hyundai’s formal entry into the electric vehicle (EV) segment, and it received a positive response from customers.

"FY25 business performance demonstrates our ability to navigate the tides by responding quickly to ever-changing customer aspirations," said Unsoo Kim, Managing Director of HMIL. He credited the success to new launches like Creta Electric and Alcazar Facelift, as well as timely updates across the product line-up.

Dividend and Export Milestone

The company has recommended a dividend of Rs 21 per share (210 per cent of face value), subject to shareholder approval. FY25 also marked Hyundai’s 25th year of export excellence, reinforcing its stronghold in overseas markets.

Looking Ahead: New Products and Powertrains

Despite a cautious near-term outlook due to weakening consumer sentiment and economic uncertainties, Hyundai aims to align its FY26 domestic growth with the industry’s projected low single-digit growth. However, it is targeting a 7-8 per cent rise in export volumes by deepening its market presence globally.

In a forward-looking move, Hyundai unveiled plans to launch 26 new products by FY2030 - including 20 internal combustion engine (ICE) models and 6 EVs. The company also plans to introduce hybrid powertrains and ramp up capacity with its upcoming Pune plant.

“With this aggressive product pipeline and enhanced manufacturing capacity, we are confident of continuing our growth story in India,” Kim added.
