Log 9 Unveils Ultra-Fast Charging Battery Technology With 0-100% charge in 15Mins for Intra-City EVs

Bengaluru based deep-tech start-up Log 9 Materials has announced the launch of a first-of-its-kind Rapid Charging Battery Technology for Electric vehicles (EVs) -- which is capable of fully charging the batteries used in EVs within a short timeframe of only 15 minutes or less. Log 9’s team has utilized its collective expertise and know-how vis-à-vis supercapacitor technology and the wonder material ‘Graphene’ to develop this battery.

The company claims its Rapid Charging Battery Packs can not only be fully charged in less than 15 minutes but also last for 15+ years. Furthermore, these battery packs offer up to 5x power and are 5 times safer in terms of fire-resistance and impact-resistance, when compared to the popular Lithium-Ion batteries that are being used widely at present. Log 9’s battery packs also promise a true range of more than 70 kilometers for Electric two-wheelers and 60-80 kilometers for Electric three-wheelers.

Mr. Akshay Singhal, Founder & CEO, Log 9 Materials says, “In the current scenario, 2-Wheeler and 3-Wheeler EVs in our country need an average charging time of 4-5 hours, leading to significant downtime which in turn affects consumer sentiment adversely; especially in the commercial segment wherein downtime directly impacts revenues. This is exactly where we at Log 9 are stepping in to solve the problem and/or bridge the gaps. We are presenting an optimized solution for intracity 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers through our latest supercapacitor-based battery technology, which enables EVs to be charged in as low as 5 minutes. Apart from providing superfast charging for EVs, Log 9’s battery packs will also be superior in terms of range and power density, and will be positioned as a highly cost-effective solution.”

Log 9 is specifically targeting the B2B last-mile delivery segment of India for the deployment of its novel Rapid Charging Batteries. And has partnered with several players in the logistics, mobility, and e-commerce space to run pilots for their newly-launched battery technology; the large-scale pilots have already commenced previous month in partnership with companies like Amazon, Vogo, Shadowfax, Delhivery, among other key fleet operators of the country.
