Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL), the country’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturer, will enter into the electric vehicle (EV) market with the eVitara, its first born electric SUV. The production-ready model will debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, with manufacturing localised in India for global markets.
The eVitara is built on the Heartect-e platform, designed exclusively for battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Highlighted by advanced safety features and cutting-edge technology, the SUV aims to deliver a modern and secure driving experience. The model was recently unveiled by Suzuki Motor Corporation in Milan, Italy, signaling its global ambitions.
Recognising the limited charging infrastructure as a key barrier to EV adoption in India, Maruti Suzuki also plans to roll out home charging solutions and a nationwide network of fast chargers through its dealerships and service centers.
Positioned as an "Emotional Versatile Cruiser," the eVitara combines contemporary design with new-age EV performance. With its launch, Maruti Suzuki aims to cater to evolving consumer preferences while introducing a competitive electric SUV to the Indian automotive market.
