MG Hector was spotted ahead of its official launch on 15th of May and we have the details. It is already known that MG Hectors comes with connected features - iSMART technology, 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch digital MID (multi-info display) in the instrument cluster and panoramic sunroof. But there is much more to it.
The steering wheel of Hector is equipped with Cruise Control and Audio controls. The Cruise control buttons are on the left part of the steering while the audio and voice control buttons are on the right which is unusual. The MID in the instrument cluster looks high resolution and seems to have a lot of information to offer. The Rpm and Speedometer are analog.
The MG Hector also comes with LED DRLs above the Headlights just like the Tata Harrier and the upcoming Hyundai Venue and LED Tail Lamps are also available.
The vertically stacked large 10inch display fills up the center console, various functions including infotainment, climate control functions and MG’s iSMART connected car application can be accessed through this big screen.
The Hector is expected to arrive in two engine variants - A 2.0-litre diesel and a 1.5-litre turbo-charged petrol. The Diesel engine will be the same as we have seen in Jeep Compass ` 2.0-liter diesel engine`. The turbocharged petrol engine is expected to produce 143PS of power and 250Nm of torque and will be coupled to a DCT gearbox.
The MG Hector will officially launch on 15 May and pre-orders will begin in the month of June. Hector will likely to be priced between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
