Surat-based lithium-ion battery storage company, Renon has launched its swappable smart batteries, Groot, for electric 2-wheelers. This Li-ion battery pack for low and medium-speed EVs is built with NMC chemistry.
The company aims to meet the requirements of high energy density and peak power needs by using phase change material for thermal management with this pack.
The new pack has a nominal voltage of 57.6 V and rated energy of 2.04 kWh. It is also water and dust-resistant, with an IP-67 rating.
Commenting on the same, MD and CEO of Renon India, Aditya Vikram, said, "We are excited to introduce Groot as the next-gen e-mobility solution for India. Renon sees the launch of this E2W Li battery platform as a step forward toward our larger goal. We intend to make further revolutions in the sector to build a strong and sustainable energy storage system in the country."
Renon India has expanded significantly since its foundation in 2019. The company expects to reach a 500+ MWh manufacturing line capacity milestone in the near future, with production technology that can manufacture 3000+ packs a month. It is currently focusing on clocking Rs. 40 crore revenue by the end of this financial year.
