Showcased earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, Tata Motors has officially launched its new all-electric flagship SUV, Harrier.ev, priced at Rs 21.49 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom Mumbai). Built on the upgraded Acti.ev+ architecture, the Harrier.ev offers a mix of strong performance, off-road capabilities, advanced tech, and premium features, all developed and manufactured largely in India.
Battery & Specifications
The Harrier.ev is powered by a dual-motor setup in the top-end variant, offering 504 Nm of torque and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 second, making it one of the fastest electric SUVs in the country. It is available in both Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Quad-Wheel Drive (QWD) configurations and offers two battery options as 65 kWh and 75 kWh.
The larger 75 kWh battery gives a certified ARAI range of up to 627 km, with a real-world expectation of 480 - 505 km. Fast charging technology allows the vehicle to gain 250 km of range in around 15 minutes using a 120kW charger. The battery is liquid-cooled and designed for compactness and durability.
Off-Road and Terrain Versatility
The SUV includes six terrain modes as Normal, Grass/Snow, Mud/Ruts, Sand, Rock Crawl, and Custom, enabling it to handle various road and weather conditions. Features like "Transparent Mode" allow drivers to see obstacles beneath the vehicle, and off-road assist with cruise control adds further ease on difficult terrains.
Loaded with Tech
The Harrier.ev debuts several firsts, including the world's first 36.9 cm Harman infotainment screen powered by Samsung Neo QLED. It also features a JBL 10-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos for an immersive audio experience. The in-car entertainment suite, Arcade.ev, includes 25+ apps and streaming options.
Other key features include:
Smart Payments and Connectivity
The Harrier.ev is the first vehicle in India to offer UPI-based in-car payments through “DrivePay”, allowing users to locate, use, and pay for EV chargers directly from the dashboard. It also includes over 55 connected features like vehicle tracking, remote operations, and more.
Comfort and Interior
Designed as a lounge on wheels, the SUV includes ventilated front seats, memory seat settings, boss mode for extra rear legroom, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and 502 litres of boot space (expandable to 999 litres), plus a front trunk (frunk) for added storage.
