Toyota Innova Crysta has done a comeback in the Indian automobile market once again after the launch of its successor, Innova Hycross. The second-generation Innova has done a comeback with a new boldface and diesel powertrain. The MPV will come in four variants: G, GX, VX and ZX. So far the company has not announced the prices yet, but customers can pre-book the car with a token money of Rs 50,000.
Since the launch of Innova Crysta, this will be the second facelift of the car in the market. This time company has introduced a new, squarer grille which is flanked by the same headlights adding a dash of chrome for bling. The exterior design of the MPV is kept pretty similar in the upcoming model. The seating capacity options of the MPV will be the same as earlier with seven seats with captain seats and eight-seat with a bench seat in for middle row.
New Crysta will have an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry with a button start, ambient lighting and an eight-way powered driver seat. In terms of safety, the company has provided seven airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, hill-start assist and electronic stability control.
The major changes have happened more in the hood of the Crysta, it will be offered in rear-wheel drive having a 5-speed manual box with having capacity of producing 150PS from a 2.4-litre diesel engine whereas the 2.7-litre petrol engine has been discontinued by the company.
The price of the new Innova Crysta is expected to experience a mild hike over the previous model which was priced at Rs 19.13 lakh (diesel variants, ex-showroom). The rivals of Crysta will be Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo.
