Yamaha Introduces 2023 Tracer 9 GT+ At EICMA

The 2023 Tracer 9 GT+ tourer has been unveiled by Yamaha at the present EICMA Motorcycle Show 2022. With the addition of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and radar assistance, the upgraded Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ is now available. Since it has typically only been found on the most expensive motorcycles from other manufacturers, the feature is a segment first and is now the most easily accessible on a motorcycle. At the moment, not even Yamaha's bikes with bigger displacements have this feature.

With the new ACC system, drivers can select from four predetermined distances to follow the vehicle in front while the system keeps the necessary speed constant for them. It's interesting to note that ACC also includes a cornering assistance feature that limits acceleration when the bike is detected to be heading around a bend by the sensors. The device also operates in corners and will keep a safe following distance if it detects a car in front of it. Additionally, the ACC system has a "passing assist" function that is activated when you turn on the overtaking indicator. As the vehicle in front gets closer, it will smoothly accelerate and pass the other vehicle.

Additionally, a brand-new "Unified Braking" technology, a first for the industry, will be available on the 2023 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+. To actively control the motorcycle during the braking phase, the system simply combines data from the IMU and radar system. This gives the motorcycle capabilities like braking force distribution and collision avoidance. The bike may be safely slowed down and an accident avoided thanks to the Unified Braking system, which can recognize a collision and increases brake pressure to both the front and back wheels.

The electronic suspension system is connected to the new braking feature, which further aids in adjusting the front and rear damping to ensure the best ride quality. The KYB-sourced suspension's mechanism will continuously change the damping forces whether it is in Sport mode or Comfort mode.

The upgraded 890 cc inline three-cylinder engine, which is now Euro5 compliant, provides power for the 2023 Tracer 9 GT+. The same motor, which has undergone extensive improvements and has increased displacement, also drives the new Niken GT. Power numbers have not yet been made public. The improved slip and assist clutch and bidirectional quickshifter are included with the new motor, though.

The larger TFT screen also adds access to the additional riding modes, Sport, Street, and Rain, as well as a slew of other functions including Garmin navigation. New switchgear, a USB port, all-LED lighting with cornering lights, and an aluminum frame and swingarm are other advantages of the bike. In May 2023, the brand-new Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ will arrive on sale in Europe.
