About 1,000 fast-charging stations, known as Ather Grids, have been set up by Ather Energy in 80 Indian towns. By the end of 2023, the company aims to have more than 2,500 fast-charging grids installed.
The Ather Grid has 60 per cent of its existing installed grids in Tier-II and Tier-III cities in India. Ather Energy gave its IP for the charging connector to all original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) earlier, clearing the path for an interoperable two-wheeler fast-charging platform. Ather Energy is focused on developing a robust fast-charging network.
The company claims that the fast-charging stations allow EV owners to charge their cars at 1.5 km/min and up to 80 per cent of their capacity. The Ather Grid app, which supports the charging network, enables all EV owners to find and instantly check the status of the closest charging stations.
All electric two-wheelers and electric four-wheelers can utilise the fast-charging network, which is available for free until March 2023. Ather Energy delivered 12,419 units in January 2023, marking its best-ever monthly wholesales. The company opened its second manufacturing site in Hosur last year.
