This move will enable modern-day consumers to purchase a luxury car, much like their groceries, in just a few clicks. The platform offers a vast inventory of luxury cars to help consumers make informed choices from the comfort of their homes.
With its entry into e-commerce, Cars.co.in aims to become the go-to platform for luxury cars. With fast-tracked delivery options, it ensures delivery of cars at the consumer’s doorstep, anywhere in the country. It allows car owners to get the best value for their cars by eliminating the heavy expenses incurred by traditional car dealers. These expenses typically come in the form of big infrastructure costs, interest costs related to inventory, and the risk of holding inventory—eating into more than 50 per cent of the profit made on a single car. By cutting down on these expenses, CCI is able to pass on the price benefit to the car seller.
The pre-owned luxury car market in India has witnessed remarkable growth over the past five years, with the market size expanding at a rate of 15 per cent per annum. As of FY'23, the domestic used car market was valued at USD 32.44 billion, according to the Indian Blue Book (IBB). The latest IBB report predicts that this market will more than double, exceeding USD 73 billion by 2028. This growth is attributed to an increasing population of middle-income earners who are willing to spend on value-for-money products and services, along with better access to quality used cars.
