Technology company Continental organized an All India Plogging Drive as part of its sustainability initiatives. Continental employees in eight locations and plants, together with their families, participated in this environment-friendly drive, organized simultaneously in Bangalore, Pune, Gurgaon, and Modipuram on 30 June 2019. Continental partnered with NGOs UnitedWay of Bengaluru, Ploggers of India and Saahas, to organize this across India.
According to Prashanth Doreswamy, Market Head, Continental India, “Sustainability is at the core of mobility; we would like to reinforce this message with our employees in every possible way. It was heartening to see employees from eight locations across India come together with the purpose of making our cities cleaner and our planet better. As a company that creates sustainable mobility solutions for the future, commitment to the environment is important.”
Prominent Plogging figures Ripu Daman, N Raj, and their team led the activity and led the Plogger’s oath of “refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, remove and rejoice. “Nearly 2.5 tons of waste was collected, which was sent to recycling centers in the respective city. Plogging as an activity has gained popularity across the globe in the recent past, blending healthy physical activity with environment-friendliness and awareness.
