EV charging solution provider, Magenta ChargeGrid has recently installed around 116 EV chargers at several locations in Delhi such as Munirka, Chattarpur, Jamia Nagar, Vasant Kunj, Dwarka, Rohini and many more. The first LEV AC electric vehicle charger has been installed at Vasant Kunj’s residential community in Delhi.
Magenta has been empanelled by three DISCOMs of Delhi for a period of three years, including BRPL (BSES Rajdhani Power Limited), BYPL (BSES Yamuna Power Limited) and TPDDL (Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited) to set up an EV charging station network across the capital.
Magenta has also installed around 100 EV chargers in different DISCOM offices. The chargers have been installed under the Delhi government’s Single window scheme.
Under the Single window subsidy scheme, each consumer is eligible for Rs. 6000 GNCTD (Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi) subsidy per EV charging point under the Delhi EV Policy.
This is limited to 1 electric vehicle charging point for private charging and up to 20 EV charging points for semi-public properties e.g., Housing societies, commercial properties, government buildings and projects.
The GNCTD subsidy is available for the first 30,000 points including LEV AC and AC001 chargers.
LEV AC & AC001Chargers
The LEVAC chargers are best suited for private use and the AC001 for residential purposes. The private EV charger would roughly cost around Rs 2,375 after subsidy.
These chargers can be installed anywhere on the wall or on a stand in your premises and takes up very little space.
Features: These smart chargers can be operated through the ChargeGrid mobile application and have several innovative features such as auto charging session resume in the event of power failure. The chargers are also equipped with multiple protections to protect against electronic short circuits, over-current, over-voltage, and ground fault.
With recent rising cases of fire incidents due to the use of unsafe domestic sockets for charging, the company says that it's important to use dedicated charging points with in-built protection. These fire cases can result in the loss of one's life and property, so safety factors cannot be negotiated.
