The total number of automobile exports has increased with positive growth. The automobile export in 2020-21 was 41,34,047 which has gone up in 2021-22 by exporting 56,17,246 vehicles. This is a positive growth of 35.9 per cent. This export includes passenger vehicles with an increase from 4,04,397 in 2020-21 to 5,77,875 in 2021-22, delivering a positive growth of 42.9 per cent.

In reply to the parliamentary question, Anupriya Patel, Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry revealed this data. Two-wheelers have also registered an export increase from 32,82,786 in 2020-21 to 44,43,018 in 2021-22.
Comparing the results of years 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22, a dip was registered in the number of exports in 2020-21 compared to pre-COVID and post-COVID years as the registered exports in 2019-20 were 47,48,738, in 2020-21 was 41,34,047 and in 2021-22 it is 56,17,246.
