ISIEINDIA, NSDC, Galgotia University Organises Electric Solar Car Rally

National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), the knowledge and implementation partner of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), collaborated with the Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIEINDIA) – an organisation for EV skill development, to organise India’s First Solar Car Rally, ISIE-Electric Solar Vehicle Championship - ESVC3000. 

The event, which was planned on the theme of the World Solar Challenge covered 350+ km in three days from Galgotias University, Greater Noida.

The solar vehicle championship created awareness and promoted the adoption of electric vehicles, upskilling, road safety and the use of renewable energy. Over 1500 engineering graduates from more than 25 institutions and 18 states were upskilled in the event.

The students showcased their self-designed and manufactured solar vehicles in an on-road rally, covering over 350 km in three days, starting from Galgotias University, Greater Noida to Agra. Vidyavardhini College of Engineering (Mumbai), Sinhgad College of Engineering (Pune) and Pimri Chinchwad College of Engineering (Pune) emerged as the winner, runner-up and second runner-up of the challenge respectively. 

Sanjeeva Singh, Executive Vice President, NSDC and CFO, NSDC International, said, “t is my firm belief that India’s first solar car rally— Electric Solar Vehicle Championship– 3000 will continue to lay a robust foundation in climate justice and will augment a solid understanding for green jobs in India,"

The rally enabled budding engineers to grapple with real-life applications and improve their skills related to design, analysis and problem solving besides enhancing their interpersonal skills and self-confidence.

Vinod Gupta, Founder and President of ISIEINDIA, said “The outcome of the rally is very impactful i.e., 2 Crore + People for EV Adoption and Road Safety also 1500+ Engineering Graduates from 18 states of India Upskilled,"

The opening ceremony for the event was held on 14 April.

Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotia University, said, “It’s a pleasure to host 1500+ engineering students from top universities of India at our university. These are the future engineers and entrepreneurs of India. The ESVC3000 is an innovative approach for learning and skill development”.
