Having celebrated its journey of six glorious years in India, Lexus India boasts of bringing a range of hybrid electric vehicles to India, aimed at contributing to the environment by reducing carbon emissions from their cars, thereby crafting a better tomorrow. Lexus continues its journey in taking impactful steps with environmentally friendly mobility options.
Lexus continues to showcase its technology, material usage, processes, and associations that have been designed to follow an environmentally friendly path. Lexus developed the industry’s first bamboo-charcoal speakers, using materials made from recycled plastics, castor seeds to biodegradable sugarcane, thereby pushing the envelope of sustainable material design. Further driving its commitment to a better tomorrow, Lexus introduced the Lexus Design Award India (LDAI) in 2018, demonstrating the vision through design. Through this property, Lexus India recognizes the talent that helps contribute significantly to a better tomorrow and support the cause for a more sustainable future. LDAI seeks to recognize and reward the best industrial design executed by Indian designers, institutions, design consultancy firms, and in-house design teams of companies.
Lexus’ drives its commitment to carbon neutrality through the initiative of planting trees on behalf of each Lexus India guest, for every car sold in the country. The project has planted over 30,000 trees all over the country, with the support of Grow-Trees. In continuation of this vision towards neutrality, by 2035 Lexus will line up 100 per cent battery electric cars. The Lexus hybrid electric battery is covered under warranty for 8 years or 1,60,000 km which helps to reduce carbon footprint for the long run.
