Mercedes has launched their first product this year, the AMG E 53 4Matic+ Cabriolet. This car will be having a starting price of Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom). This is the fourth 53-badged car after E 53 sedan, EQS 53 sedan and GLE 53 coupe-SUV.
The E53 Cabriolet has a 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which can produce a power of 435 hp and a torque of 520Nm. It is a convertible two-door car and four seats.
In India, it is not the first time that Mercedes has come up with an open version of the E-Class. In 2010 open car version of the previous generation was launched and in 2015 company launched a facelift of the same.
The car can reach from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.6 sec and achieve a top speed of 250 kph with its 9-speed automatic transmission that deliver the power to all four wheels.
In this model, E53 gets AMG’s Ride Control+ air suspension and Dynamic Select driving modes. Also, Mercedes has a starter-generator that produces an additional power of 21 hp and torque of 250 Nm.
The car looks somehow sedan from the front and the same signature AMG Panamericana grille is there with a sporty bumper. Another highlight is the chrome strip on the doors. Rear lamps are sleek horizontal tail lamps and quad exhausts is used in the car.
The car will be available in India in five colour options with a fabric roof which will have four colour options. 19-inch alloy wheels are used in the car.
E53 is provided with two screens, one for infotainment and another for the instrument cluster. Features such as neck heaters for front seats, a heated steering wheel, a Burmester sound system and an AIRCAP wind stop system are there in the cabin.
So far there are no direct rivals to this car in the Indian automobile market.
