MG Motor Will Showcase Air EV At Auto Expo 2023

MG Air EV, the company's second electric vehicle and the first mass-market model, will go on sale in India the following year, in 2023, according to MG Motor India. In addition to joining the MG ZS EV in the company's electric lineup, the new MG Air EV will also serve as the "official EV" of the G20 Summit, which is scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10, 2023. The Wuling Air EV, which SAIC-GM-Wuling has been producing since 2020 and is also the most popular electric vehicle in China, is the model on which the new MG Air EV is based.

The next MG Air EV will be priced in India below the Rs. 15 lakh range, according to MG Motor India. it is expected that MG Motor India will present the Air EV at the January 2023 Auto Expo. There are two battery sizes available for the MG Air EV made in China: a 17.3 kWh and a 26.7 kWh LFP pack. Both battery packs have power of 40 horsepower output, but the one with the smaller battery has a range of 200 km on a single charge as opposed to the version with the larger battery, which has a range of 300 km. The base infotainment system will have a 10.25-inch touchscreen.

The MG Air EV, code-named E230, will feature the newest onboard technology, but expect a small change to the EV's cabin. Additionally, the manufacturer is likely to adjust the suspension and a few other crucial EV components for Indian roads and driving conditions. Additionally, the company may change the name of the Air EV in India while still adding the MG badge to the centre of the hood. The car currently has steel wheels on the China-spec version, however it is anticipated that MG will offer the vehicle with alloy wheels.
