This week, all BS3 and BS4 diesel vehicles were prohibited from operating in Delhi under state IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-IV), with the exception of essential and emergency services vehicles. Delhi Government will now impose a penalty of Rs. 20,000 on all violators due to the city's AQI exceeding the severe thresholds this week.
Additionally, the air quality commission mandated that all businesses in Delhi and surrounding NCR regions that do not use clean fuel must shut down. Additionally, trucks other than those transporting necessities or those powered by CNG and electricity, are not allowed to enter. Additionally, construction activity on public projects including motorways, flyovers, power transmission, and pipelines has been prohibited in Delhi-NCR.
