Tata Projects, Micron To Construct Advanced Semiconductor Facility In Gujarat

Tata Projects has partnered with a USA-based company, Micron Technology, to construct an advanced semiconductor assembly and test plant in Sanand, Gujarat.

Tata Projects said the contract will solidify the company's proficiency in large-scale, sustainable infrastructure development in the Indian manufacturing landscape.

It added the project spanning an expansive 93 acre of land in the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation area of Chaarodi, Sanand is a significant milestone and the largest investment under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM).

Additionally, the company underlined that the construction of Phase 1 will include 5,00,000 square feet of cleanroom space, scheduled to be operational by late 2024.

The project encompasses unique design and construction via DRAM (dynamic random access memory) and NAND (non-volatile flash memory) assembly and test facility in India.

Tata will use modernised methods for construction and techniques with integrated EPC delivery through 4D BIM and hybrid modular accelerated construction.

The Sanand factory is in accordance with LEED Gold Standards of the Green Building Council and will also integrate advanced water-saving technologies.
