Terra Charge Installs EV Charging Station At Agartala Airport

The Japanese technology-enabled charging station, located near the VIP car parking area, features both 7.4 kW and 10 kW chargers

In a major push toward accessible EV infrastructure in Northeast India, Terra Charge, a Charge Point Operator (CPO) and OEM, has installed an EV charging station at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport, Agartala, in collaboration with the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The Japanese technology-enabled charging station, located near the VIP car parking area, features both 7.4 kW and 10 kW chargers to meet the growing demand for EV charging. This initiative is part of a broader, long-term collaboration between Terra Charge and AAI to equip India’s airports with future-ready EV charging infrastructure.

Tripura is the 15th state in India, and the third in the Northeast, to adopt an electric vehicle policy. The availability of charging facilities at MBB Airport complements this policy by addressing charging concerns among EV users. Terra Charge’s Managing Director, Go Suzuki, commented on the launch and discussed the possibilities, saying, “This launch marks another milestone in our mission to make EV charging accessible, reliable, and convenient for all. Airport locations are critical transit hubs, and by enabling EV users to recharge effortlessly here, we are eliminating a key barrier to EV adoption. In addition, our partnership with AAI reflects a shared commitment to accelerating India’s green mobility transition. With this new charging station at MBB Airport, we are one step closer to a future where range anxiety is a thing of the past.”

Users can locate the charger via the Terra Charge Mobile App and initiate sessions with digital payments, ensuring a fully contactless and secure charging experience.

Terra Charge has already established charging stations at airports in Bhopal and Ranchi, with the Srinagar airport station ready to go live and another under construction at Imphal.
