EV charging infrastructure developer company, Terra Charge, has partnered with Bhopal Airport to install an electric vehicle park and charge facility at the premises. This partnership is a first of its kind for Terra Charge and a part of the company’s expansion plan.
The Japanese technology-enabled park and charge facility will occupy an area of 75 sq m. and accommodate four EVs at a time. The hub will initially feature one slow charger and one 30 kW fast charger to cater to the different charging needs of E2W, E3W, and E4W. Both public and commercial fleet owners will have 24/7 access to the charging hub services. This new collaboration marks Terra Charge's first-ever tie-up with an airport and highlights the company’s commitment to expanding India’s public charging infrastructure in major locations.
The Japanese Charging Point Operator (CPO) has invested INR 15 lakh in this project, which is a part of the company’s ongoing efforts to expand its charging network. The company also plans to complete four more similar projects this quarter to advance its sustainability goals.
CEO of Terra Charge, Akihiro Ueda, shared his thoughts on the collaboration, stating, “Under this tie-up, we intend to install accessible charging infrastructure in major public places like airports, which receive massive footfall around the clock. I believe this joint initiative will cater to the rising demand for EV charging and add value to Bhopal.”
Though Terra Charge has not mentioned any date, the upcoming charging station is anticipated to go live in 45-60 days. Android and iOS users can locate the charging station on the airport’s parking premises through the Terra Charge Mobile App. The company is currently working on similar projects in key locations in India.
