Flagship Store 

MG has opened doors to its first flagship store in Gurugram in Sector 15. The one of kind flagship store is not just a regular dealership but talks about the rich British Heritage as soon as you enter the dealership. It welcomes you with large street lamps, the iconic red telephone booth and even a replica of Big Ben.


Connectivity 

It is India’s first connected car in its segment and has class leading features like a 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen display which is the most eye-catching part. It controls all the major features of the vehicle and offers features like remote location, real-time navigation and Geo fencing among a lot more. It is host to at least 100 different features that can be controlled through your smartphone.


Dimensions

One of the most talked about features of the new Hector since its unveiling has been its dimensions. It has class-leading dimensions with 4655mm length and 1835mm width. It is definitely a long and a wide car as compared to its counterparts like the Jeep Compass. It has a decent ground clearance of 192mm and a boot capacity of 587 liters.


Engine

The Hector uses the same FIAT sourced engines like its rivals, the compass and the harrier for the petrol. A unit is a 2.0-liter unit that puts out 168 hp and 350 nm of torque which is paired with a six-speed manual transmission as standard. The petrol also gets an automatic dual clutch transmission for smooth shifts but the diesel has not been offered in the automatic transmission yet. It also has a 1.5-liter turbo petrol four-cylinder engine churning out 141bhp at 250nm of peak torque. Hector has also introduced a hybrid engine with a 48-volt lithium- ion battery which provides an extra 20nm of torque is required. The GST on lithium-ion batteries has reduced from 28% to 18% which would make it an attractive engine option for the Indian Buyers.


The Hector is 5G ready.

It would be India’s first car that would be 5G integrated and the touch screen infotainment system would come equipped with an e-Sim due to the fact that Airtel has partnered up with MG. It would provide free connectivity until the warranty period and streaming apps will be easily operated without the need of connecting a smartphone.


7 Seater already in works 

The company is planning to launch a 7 Seater version of the Hector in the first quarter of 2020 which would be a re-engineered version of the Chinese model Baojun 530 which debuted in the Chinese market a few weeks ago.


Other Features 

Among its competition, it would come equipped with the largest panoramic sunroof which would provide an airy feel to the cabin. The car will also have a segment first 360* surround camera for easier parking and breezing through the narrow roads of the country.
