Trucknetic is stepping up EV Aggregation Platform for commercial trucks, in a bid to add fuel to the country's EV ecosystem and net zero targets.
A one-stop digital platform, Trucknetic facilitates the booking of all kinds of trucks for interstate, intercity, and intracity services. With the new platform, it will now be providing Electric Vehicles as a service (EV-aas) through its digital platform.
Through EV-aas, it will help the supply chain startups to electrify their mid-mile and last-mile operations by providing EVs for their scheduled movements.
The Delhi-based startup is facilitating EV adoption among fleet owners by not only providing them with leasing and financial services to make a purchase but also ensuring their fleet’s utiliasation for scheduled trips and on-demand trips while giving the advantage of reduced freight prices to the shippers.
With the launch of EV Trucks, the company is yet to witness the revolution in road logistics mobility and the emergence of an EV aggregation platform for commercial trucks in India will be a remarkable way to accelerate EV adoption.
There is a major policy, industry, and consumer focus and with the Indian government’s commitment of having 30 per cent of private vehicles as EVs by 2030 at COP-27, the sector is seeing a major boost from all the stakeholders involved. Following the push, auto manufacturers and supply chain companies are now investing heavily to reach the aspirational goal.
"Businesses such as e-commerce, and logistics firms which depend a lot on vehicular transportation, are best placed to be early adopters and market-shapers in the electric vehicle space. Our company sees tremendous potential for electric freight mobility to build a green and robust supply chain for the future. Going fully electric in this manner is one step in transitioning mobility systems to adapt to climate-friendly technology and operations that will not only future-proof the business but also drastically reduce transport-related carbon emissions,” said Arham Partap Jain, Founder, Trucknetic.
Electric Vehicles have come a long way from merely being a fancy concept to now delivering actual use cases. These vehicles are not only environment friendly but also have much lower running and maintenance costs compared to their counterparts.
With the increasing problem of pollution, specifically in Delhi NCR, the Govt of India and the Govt. of Delhi are taking stringent actions to curb pollution through ban on diesel engines and encouraging the transition to Electric Vehicles (EV). State governments including Delhi have set April 1, 2030 as a cut-off date for vehicle aggregators to convert their entire fleet to EV.
With the government’s mandate, supply chain and delivery startups are aggressively looking to switch to EVs, specifically for their mid-mile and last-mile operations. The startups include Big Basket, Dunzo, Zepto, and Otipy among others and Trucknetic's new platform will meet the requirement in this regard with its fleet of commercial EV trucks.
