VECV Providing Active Support To Dealers

The auto industry has been reeling under the pressure of slowdown and then due to COVID imposed lockdown. For the very first time, the sector saw zero sales in the month of April and likewise number for the month of May. But June saw a green shoot with number recovering as the lockdown was lifted. Auto dealers saw it's adverse effected with dealerships across the country shed around 2 lakh jobs to tide over the impact of an unprecedented sales slump.

OEMs are trying to provide best class support to all their stakeholders, Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles a subsidiary of Eicher Motors has extended financial assistance to their dealers in the form of soft loans and credit period to manage cash flow issues and also incentives to retain trained manpower. To ensure ease of customers business post lockdown – the timeline for warranty was extended by two months. For BSVI range of vehicles for the first time, VECV introduced extended driveline warranty up to 8 years for haulage and 15000 hours for tippers

Currently, VECV has implemented a lot of new digital customer experience initiatives to reach out and support them during these trying times. The company ensured technical support was offered to the vehicles on-road 24x7 by the UPTIME team using remote diagnosis and video conferencing even during the lockdown. Massive awareness campaign were conducted through WhatsApp to educate customers through pre-operational guidelines in all regional languages

Ensuring good health of employees and other stakeholder have become of utmost importance hence a detailed SOP is being followed in all workshops across India.

EOS support continued to be provided by all the workshops and despite challenges, 80% of calls made on road were resolved within 24 hours. The company maintains a complete database of the vehicles that enters the workshop. Based on this data and use of in-house analytics, the truck maker is able to pinpoint a potential fault and help improve the service experience for the customers.

VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (A Volvo Group and Eicher Motors joint venture) recorded sales of 1358 units in June 2020. Eicher branded trucks & buses have recorded sales of 1321 units in June 2020. In the domestic CV market, Eicher branded trucks & buses have recorded sales of 1016 units in June 2020.
