Why Major Brands Are Not Participating In The Auto Expo 2023

The most awaited and biggest auto show, the Auto Expo 2023 is finally going to be held in January 2023 from 13-18 at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. The theme of the Auto Expo 2023 will be “Automotive Technologies that Drive the World”.

Auto Expo is an opportunity and platform for automakers to showcase their upcoming passenger vehicle products and projects in front of the public. A good number of automakers participate in this event but this time some big automotive companies are pulling their names from the list of participants.

Companies that are participating in Auto Expo 2023 are MG Motors, Tata Motors, Kia, Citroen, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Toyota.

However, some of the big and renowned automakers are planning to step back from participating in the auto show such as Mercedes Benz, Audi, Mahindra & Mahindra, Jeep, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Renault, Honda Cars India, Skoda, Volkswagen, and Nissan.

There are two-wheelers such as Hero Moto, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, Royal Enfield, KTM, Harley Davidson, Bajaj Auto, and TVS as well in the list of those who are missing the Expo 2023.

Nearly all premium and luxury brands in the four-wheeler segment are giving and all renowned two-wheeler brands are also giving up on Auto Expo 2023.

SIAM which organises the Auto Expo is in negotiations with automakers to participate in Expo. It is also working on special strategies and packages, so companies take interest in Expo.

Companies have seen that there is less increase in the number of visitors compared to 2016, 2018, and 2020 which doesn’t allow them to put a big investment in the Auto Expo. Also, companies feel that the venue is far from the city and Pragati Maidan would have attracted more visitors than India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.
