BMW Group has premiered the seventh generation of its 7 Series. The series is expected to arrive in India early next year. The main highlight of this series is the BMW i7, which is the company’s first all-electric luxury sedan.
The new BMW i7 M70 xDrive, the top specification model will have an all-electric drive system with two motors on the front and rear axle. Its drive system will generate a maximum output of over 600 hp and a peak torque of around 1,000 Nm. The company says that this will be the most powerful BMW model ever registered for the road that can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in less than four seconds.
The BMW 7 Series will also include models from the BMW i and BMW M brands and will offer a choice of combustion engines, plug-in hybrid systems, and all-electric drive for the first time ever.
In terms of design, on the exterior, the new BMW 7 Series will sport a standard BMW front grille. In the interior, unlike its predecessors, the new series will be more spacious in the rear with an executive lounge option and will come with new BMW individual merino leather/cashmere wool.
The company says that the new BMW 7 series would give exclusive offerings for the Chinese market as it’s the most important sales region for the company and a diesel model for Europe. Initially in Europe, the market launch will only feature the BMW i7.
In terms of features, the 7 series will be equipped with the BMW theatre screen, the multi-sensory vehicle experience, BMW operating system 8 with a curved display, intelligent personal assistant for automated parking, BMW interaction bar, in-car entertainment system, and augmented view function will be available on the information display behind the steering wheel.
Passengers in the rear will get a BMW Theatre Screen. The driver and front passenger will also be able to use YouTube video-on-demand streaming service on the control display for the first time. A 5G-compatible aerial system will provide high-speed connectivity in the new BMW 7 Series.
