South Korean automotive company, Daewoo has officially stepped into India's competitive automotive lubricant market, unveiling its premium range of products. The South Korean brand, known for its innovation and engineering prowess, has entered the Indian space through a strategic licensing collaboration with Mangali Industries, a prominent player in domestic manufacturing.

The tie-up is expected to position Daewoo as a formidable player in a space traditionally dominated by established domestic and multinational brands.

The new product line includes lubricants designed for a wide spectrum of vehicles — from two-wheelers and passenger cars to commercial and agricultural vehicles — each formulated to meet the specific demands of Indian roads and weather conditions. In a market where efficiency, durability, and environmental considerations increasingly dictate consumer choice, Daewoo aims to deliver on all fronts.

“Daewoo has always stood for innovation, trust, and performance,” said Vineet Singh, Director of Strategy & Growth at Daewoo, during the launch. “Through this powerful alliance with Mangali Industries, we are shaping the future of high-performance lubricants in one of the world’s most dynamic and demanding markets. With this launch, we embark on a long-term journey dedicated to empowering the Indian automotive industry.”

Representing Daewoo’s global ambitions, Sang-hwan Oh, Deputy General Manager at POSCO, Korea, emphasized the company’s commitment to maintaining international standards while localising products to suit India’s unique requirements. “Daewoo is committed to quality and customer satisfaction. Every product is developed to meet rigorous international benchmarks while adapting to evolving local needs,” Oh said.

Industry analysts see Daewoo’s entry as a strong signal of India’s growing importance in the global automotive value chain — not only as a manufacturing hub but also as a key consumer market. The automotive lubricant market in India is projected to grow significantly over the next few years, fueled by increasing vehicle ownership, improved infrastructure, and demand for better engine performance.

By leveraging Mangali Industries’ local expertise and Daewoo’s international reputation for quality, the partnership aims to deliver products that extend engine life, improve fuel efficiency, and support sustainable mobility solutions — key themes in the future of transportation.
