Electric two-wheeler startup, Hop Electric will soon be launching its high-speed electric motorcycle, Oxo in the coming months. Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), affiliated with the Ministry of Heavy Industries, has certified now the bike.
Hop Oxo e-bike has successfully cleared all tests conducted by ARAI, including AIS 156 for batteries.
The ARAI certification comes on the heels of Hop Electric's successful mandate of the Government of India's (GOI) ambitious Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for Auto under the New Non-Automotive Investor (OEM) category. Under this mandate, Hop Electric will be investing more than Rs. 2000 crore in India in the next five years.
As part of the beta-testing program, Hop Oxo completed 75,000 km of road testing across 20 cities including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Patna, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Surat, Manesar etc. with selected dealer partners. The company is now making provisions for Hop Oxo's commercial production and is scheduled to be launched in late July or early August.
The company says that the Hop Oxo has been designed and developed in compliance with FAME II norms.
