2017 started, Hygge Energy, a renewable energy trading company has joined hands with Think Gas, a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) distribution company to set up zero-emission electric mobility solution across India.
Hygge is doing this by integrating its software solution into an Electric Vehicle (EV) charging or battery swapping system. The software is facilitated by Hygge Box which provides the ability for EV drivers to book and reserve EV charging time slots in advance, thereby avoiding waiting time, disappointments for not getting a charging spot, and chaos at the charging stations.
This software is being integrated at the Think Gas’s CNG station in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, which will be followed by other locations.
The solution comes with the Hygge EV mobile app which enables tracking, measurement, optimization, allocation and accounting of renewable energy for EV charging. This ensures that all renewable energy is directed towards EV charging. In the absence of EV charging, this energy can be redirected to other applications for maximum utilization and savings on electricity bills.
The app also enables planning and management of EV charging stations, as well as tracking of payments and carbon credits earned by users each time they utilize Hygge's network.
The company says if all-electric vehicles in the country are charged using renewable energy, it will open up a Rs. 75,000 crore export opportunity in the carbon market only through electric vehicle charging.
