The Korean carmaker Hyundai has announced the introduction of its all-electric SUV Ioniq 5 in India later this year. Ioniq will be the brand’s second electric SUV in India after Kona EV.
Internationally, the Ioniq 5 is built on Hyundai’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and features an innovative interior and exterior design. The company says Ioniq 5 will set a new benchmark that will redefine the electric mobility lifestyle in India with synergies of intelligent technology, sustainability and innovation.
Ioniq 5 will come with ultra-high-strength steel and 8-point battery mounting. The SUV will also have a large battery capacity and would be able to attain a top speed of 260 km per hour.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be pitted against Kia’s EV6 in India.
