Hyundai Motor India has partnered with Tata Power to build an electric vehicle charging network in India. Through this association, the company is aiming to boost EV adoption in India at its dealerships.
Hyundai currently has an existing network of 34 electric vehicle dealers in 29 cities which is equipped with AC 7.2 kW chargers. Now with Tata Power, Hyundai will install 60 kW DC fast chargers across all 34 of its EV dealer locations in 29 cities. These 60 kW DC chargers will reduce the vehicle charging time much lesser than 7.2 kW AC chargers.
The charging stations at Hyundai Dealerships will be open for all the electric vehicle customers and will be accessible through Hyundai and Tata Power EZ Charge mobile app.
The Hyundai and Tata Power EZ Charge mobile app will let customers locate the charging stations, navigate, make payments, access live status, and pre-book slots to avoid chaos at charging stations.
The MoU was signed between Hyundai and Tata Power in the presence of Unsoo Kim, MD & CEO of Hyundai Motor India and Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power, at Hyundai Motor’s headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana.
