The Bharat Battery Show, under the banner of Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, is set to become a pivotal event for the electric mobility and energy storage sectors. Organised by the Indian Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), the show will feature the Battery Tech, Recycling, and Charging Infrastructure Pavilions, running from 19 to 21 January 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, as per a press release.
During the curtain raiser event held at Le Meridian, Delhi, Vimal Anand, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, emphasised the importance of battery technology in India’s e-mobility transition. He highlighted the country's goal of developing 300 GWh of advanced batteries for e-mobility by 2030 and the crucial role of energy storage in supporting a greener, more sustainable future.
India's growing ambitions in the electric vehicle (EV) sector are being supported by initiatives like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which incentivizes local battery manufacturing, as well as the PM E-drive scheme, which allocates Rs 2000 crores for fast-charging infrastructure. These efforts are expected to reduce dependency on imports, boost local innovation, and position India as a global leader in clean energy solutions.
Debi Prasad Dash, President of IESA, shared excitement about the event, stating, “IESA is proud to be part of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This platform will bring together top minds and companies in the mobility space, showcasing India’s readiness to lead in battery and charging infrastructure innovations. In addition to the main exhibition, we will host two pre-event knowledge-conferences and two key sessions during the expo days, reinforcing India’s leadership in the green mobility revolution.”
The Bharat Battery Show will showcase advancements in battery storage, recycling technologies, and charging infrastructure, with over 100 global players from countries such as Germany, the USA, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and China. Notable industry announcements include Epsilon Advanced Materials' plan to set up an LFP & LMFP Cathode Active Materials plant, Replus’ expansion in lithium-ion battery manufacturing for electric trucks, and Nash Energy’s development of next-gen solid-state battery technologies.
With the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 expected to attract more than 1,500 exhibitors and over 500,000 visitors from 50+ countries, IESA’s pavilions will be at the heart of the event, serving as a hub for discussions and innovations in energy storage and sustainable mobility solutions. The Expo is set to be India’s largest platform for showcasing advancements in the global mobility sector, with a strong focus on the future of e-mobility, battery manufacturing, and circular economy practices.
