Kia Launches EV9 & Carnival Limousine In India

Carmaker, Kia India has launched its latest offerings, the EV9 electric SUV and the Carnival Limousine, marking a significant milestone in its 2.0 transformation strategy aimed at redefining mobility in India. Priced at Rs. 1.29 crore and Rs. 63.9 lakh respectively, these models blend cutting-edge technology with bold design and enhanced safety features.

The EV9, Kia’s flagship electric SUV, is equipped with a 99.8 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 561 km on a single charge. Its ultra-fast charging capability allows the battery to recharge from 10 to 80 per cent in 24 minutes with a 350kW DC charger. Meanwhile, the Carnival Limousine caters to luxury seekers with advanced comfort features and a tech-forward cabin. Both vehicles showcase Kia's commitment to sustainable and connected mobility, with 20 robust safety features and seamless integration of Kia Connect 2.0.

As Kia’s flagship electric vehicle (EV), the EV9 stands at the intersection of innovation, technology, and sustainability. Powered by a 99.8 kWh battery, it offers a range of up to 561 km on a single charge, making it well-suited for both urban commutes and long road trips. Its ultra-fast charging capability—reaching 80 per cent charge in 24 minutes with a 350kW DC charger—addresses one of the critical concerns of EV adoption in India: charging infrastructure and time.

On the design front, the EV9 represents Kia’s bold new aesthetic, with a futuristic, angular profile and features like a digital pattern lighting grille that accentuates its visual appeal. Inside, the EV9 integrates Kia Connect 2.0 with features like Digital Key 2.0, allowing owners to unlock and start the vehicle using their smartphones. The over-the-air (OTA) software updates ensure that software enhancements can be performed without needing a dealership visit. The EV9 packs 44 controllers through which the car can be diagnosed remotely. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling users to power external devices—underscoring its versatility as a modern electric vehicle.

The EV9 also features a Trinity panoramic display, which combines a 31.24cm (12.3-inch) HD display instrument cluster, a 12.7cm (5-inch) HD HVAC display, and a 31.24 cm (12.3-inch) HD touchscreen navigation system.

Safety is also a priority with the EV9, which boasts over 27 Autonomous ADAS features, multi-collision brakes, vehicle stability management, and a comprehensive 10-airbag system, ensuring maximum protection for all occupants.

Kia has also equipped the vehicle with a range of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to enhance both safety and convenience, including features like forward collision avoidance and blind-spot monitoring.
