Lectro Ecycles, a brand of Hero Cycles, has joined hands with Child Rights and You (CRY) to help provide food and ration supplies to daily wage workers and marginalized communities whose livelihoods have been hit due to the COVID 19 crisis.
Lectro Ecycles has contributed Rs 10 lakh towards CRY’s COVID 19 response which comprises supplying ration supplies to thousands of affected families who are struggling to feed themselves in the crisis situation.
Lectro’s financial support will be used to supply dry ration to an estimated 550 families or around 3000 individuals. The ration kits contain wheat, rice, pulses, oil, soya, peanuts to fulfill daily needs and essential nutritional requirements of kids and adults.
“This is a time of extreme difficulty for a large number of Indians. Even as we grapple with the threat of disease spread, millions of unorganized sector workers and daily wagers have lost their livelihoods due to the prolonged shutdown. What is heartening to see is that a number of private organizations and individuals have risen to the occasion and have extended a helping hand to people. At Lectro, we are contributing in our own modest way by helping out CRY in its endeavour to feed as many as people as possible,” said Aditya Munjal, Director Hero Cycles and Lectro E-Mobility Pvt Ltd.
“Amidst these trying times, CRY is making all attempts to keep children and communities safe, especially in the vulnerable areas. Even though the entire country is struggling with this public health emergency, but people belonging to the marginalized communities are the worst affected. Fulfilling their needs and ensuring their survival being our top priority at this moment, we do appreciate the support extended by Lectro Ecycles. I’m sure this will go a long way in strengthening us to respond to the stress caused by the ongoing lockdown,” said Puja Marwah, CEO at CRY - Child Rights and You.
