Magenta Mobility Opens New Office & Charging Depot In Bhiwandi

The Company will hire 200 local Delivery Executives (DEs) to operate and run the EV fleets from this location

Magenta Mobility, an integrated electric mobility solutions provider, has launched ‘Project 302,’ named after the Pincode for Bhiwandi which is one of India’s largest warehousing hubs. Under this project, Magenta has opened a new office and charging depot in Bhiwandi, deploying electric vehicles (EVs) using the hub-and-spoke model.

With an initial fleet of 500 EVs at this facility, comprising both three-wheelers and four-wheelers, the company is poised to meet the surging demand for sustainable transportation solutions. To support this, the company aims to hire around 200 local Delivery Executives (DEs) to operate the vehicles. Additionally, a charging hub will be set-up to facilitate the electrification of the fleet, transforming the office space into an EV hub and creating significant employment opportunities. Hiring will span across logistics operations, charging operations, and field operations to support Magenta’s growing business.

Bhiwandi, with 25 million square feet of space, caters to the growing demands of the e-commerce and third-party logistics industries. Robust infrastructure developments like Metro Line 5, connectivity to major cities and ports, and proactive government support make Bhiwandi a prime location for warehousing and logistics solutions. Situated on the outskirts of Mumbai, Bhiwandi hosts warehouses for e-commerce giants, pharma companies, FMCGs, retailers, and conglomerates, making it an ideal operational hub for Magenta Mobility to extend its services in the region.

Maxson Lewis, Founder and CEO of Magenta Mobility, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating: “Bhiwandi is an ideal location for Magenta Mobility due to its strategic location and strong connectivity to key markets such as Mumbai and Thane, as well as key ports. This reduces travel distances and enables faster and more efficient deliveries. It aligns with our sustainability goals and enhances our operational capabilities in Western India. Bhiwandi's connectivity to the Mumbai-Nashik Expressway and the Western Express Highway is a major advantage. Our presence in this key location will enable us to better serve our customers, providing top-notch mid and last-mile delivery solutions.”

The new office will exemplify best sustainability practices, such as using natural light to reduce electricity (HVAC) consumption, going paperless to minimise environmental impact, and discouraging the use of single-use plastic by providing reusable cups and recycled paper bags. The company has also partnered with an e-waste management company to reduce and recycle e-waste from its offices and business operations.

Currently, Magenta Mobility has 11 offices in 10 cities across India. The Bhiwandi office is the fourth location in Maharashtra, complementing its two offices in Mumbai and one in Pune. This expansion is part of Magenta Mobility's ambitious ‘Ab Ki Baar Dus Hazaar’ program, aiming to deploy 10,000 electric vehicles by September 2025. To date, Magenta Mobility’s fleet of over 2,000 vehicles have traveled 16 million clean kilometers across 17 cities and managed to keep 430 metric tons of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.
