Maruti Impacted By Chip Shortage, Reports A 53% Drop In Yo-Y Sales At 86,380 Units

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. total sales fell 53% in September due to electronic components shortage. Sales fell 34% month-on-month to 86,380 units in September, Sales Snapshot (MoM) Exports fell 14.8 % to 17,565 units. Mini and compact vehicle segment sales fell 60.17% to 89,953 units. Utility vehicle sales saw a degrowth of 43% to 18,459 units.

Sales volume of the Company in September 2021 was adversely impacted due to shortage of electronic components. The Company took all possible measures to limit the adverse impact - the company said in a statement
