Premium motorcycle manufacturer, KTM has launched the next-generation edition of its popular supersport model KTM RC 390. The instantly noticeable update in the new 2022 KTM RC 390 is the Grand Prix-inspired styling and two new colorways – blue and orange.
This new design features an all-new two-part cockpit and windscreen holder, a new bionic wheel design, handle bar with two-step height adjustments, a hollow front axle and new ByBre brakes with 320 mm and 280mm discs with dual-channel ABS. The rear bodywork has been reduced for a more aggressive profile while showcasing a new steel trellis subframe.
In addition, the suspension has undergone a major refresh, with open cartridge WP APEX upside-down front forks and a WP APEX rear shock absorber, which offers pre-load adjustment.
KTM says this redesign has been done to optimize the aerodynamics, thanks in part to a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) design process.
Some other features on the 2022 KTM RC 390 include Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), quickshifter+, lean-angle sensitive cornering ABS, dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode, power-assisted anti-hopping slipper clutch and a TFT display with KTM My Ride.
The KTM RC 390 is powered by a 373cc state-of-the-art, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine with twin overhead camshafts, four valves and electronic fuel injection. For 2022, the torque delivery is improved compared to previous models due to the 40 percent bigger airbox. The supersport bike now gets a larger 13.7-litre fuel tank capacity.
The Kerb weight of the bike is 172 kg and is priced at Rs. 3,13,922 (ex-showroom Delhi)
