Electric two-wheeler manufacturing startup, Revolt Motors recently launched its electric motorcycle in the commuter segment, the Revolt RV1. The RV1 and its premium variant, RV1+, are offered in four body colour options, priced at an introductory of ₹84,990 for the RV1 and ₹99,990 for the RV1+.
Within a week of the launch, Revolt Motors has received over 16,000 bookings. Now this is the third model in the company's electric two-wheeler product portfolio which includes models like the RV400 and RV400 BRZ.
India is primarily a motorcycling country with motorcycles comprising 70 per cent of all two-wheelers sold in India. Within the motorcycles market of about 1.25 crores motorcycles sold annually in India, the commuter segment comprises the largest share with more than 80 lac motorcycles sold in the commuter segment.
Specifications
RV1 boasts a 250 kg payload capacity—significantly higher than the 150 kg average seen in other commuter motorcycles. It features broader tyres for improved grip and stability, making it perfect for both city streets and longer journeys. Powered by a mid-motor and a premium chain drive system, the RV1 ensures seamless acceleration and smooth riding performance.
Dual disc brakes, a feature not commonly found in other commuter motorcycles, enhance safety by providing superior stopping power. The bike also offers multiple speed modes for versatile riding and introduces a reverse mode—a first in its category—ensuring ease in tight parking spaces.
A sleek 6-inch digital LCD display provides real-time ride data and error codes. LED headlights and taillights enhance both the aesthetics and visibility of the RV1. Riders can also enjoy the added benefit of built-in charger storage in both the variants. With the fast-charging technology, the RV1+ can get fully charged in around 1.5 hours.
In terms of range, the RV1 comes with two battery options: a 2.2 kWh battery offering up to 100 km range, and a 3.24 kWh battery extending the range to 160 km. Both battery options are IP67-rated for water resistance, ensuring reliable performance even in adverse weather conditions.
Furthermore, Revolt Motors has upgraded its flagship model, the RV400, which now comes with enhanced features to further improve performance, convenience, and safety. The new fast charger charges the bike from 0 to 100 per cent in around 90 minutes, while the addition of reverse mode simplifies parking in tight spaces. The enhanced digital display, comfortable seat height, and Bluetooth connectivity for music make the riding experience even more enjoyable. Safety has also been improved with a built-in leg guard and centre stand.
The RV400 now boasts an extended range of 160 km and is available in a new colour, Lunar Green. With new CAN based communication system to make it more intelligent.
