Tata Motors showcased three significant models at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025: the Sierra ICE, Harrier EV, and Avinya X concept. The unveiling marks Tata’s continued focus on innovation and its commitment to addressing diverse mobility needs in India.

Tata Sierra ICE: A Modern Revival
The Sierra ICE reintroduces Tata's iconic SUV nameplate in a modern avatar, blending classic design elements with advanced technology. Available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric versions, the Sierra aims to compete in the compact SUV segment, rivaling the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos.

Showcased in a striking yellow finish, the concept features a wide LED light bar, a distinctive grille, large alpine windows reminiscent of the 1990s model, and connected LED tail lights. Inside, the SUV is expected to include a triple-screen dashboard, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and advanced safety features like six airbags and ADAS.

The Sierra ICE is projected to offer a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2-litre diesel engine, both generating 170 PS. Transmission options will likely include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Prices are expected to start at Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Harrier EV: Tata’s First Mid-Size Electric SUV
The Harrier EV, designed to compete with models like the Mahindra BE.06 and Hyundai Creta Electric, represents Tata’s first mid-size electric SUV. The EV version retains the Harrier’s familiar design, with EV-specific features like a closed grille, aero-optimised alloy wheels, and connected LED light bars.

Inside, the Harrier EV offers a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, and an illuminated two-spoke steering wheel. Safety features include Level-2 ADAS, seven airbags, and a 360-degree camera. Tata has equipped the Harrier EV with an AWD system, featuring one electric motor on each axle. It is expected to deliver a range of over 500 km with a 75kWh battery pack, with pricing estimated between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 30 lakh.

Tata Avinya X Concept: The Future of Premium EVs
Tata’s Avinya X concept represents the future of premium electric vehicles for the brand. Positioned as a large coupe-SUV, the Avinya X departs from the wagon-like design of its predecessor to feature a more muscular profile, high ground clearance, and a sharply raked silhouette. Key design highlights include a T-shaped LED lighting signature and black-gloss bumpers.

Expected to launch in 2026, the Avinya X will serve as the flagship model for Tata’s upcoming premium EV lineup, showcasing its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and luxury.

Context and Competition
Tata’s announcements at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 come amid growing competition in India’s EV market. The Harrier EV will compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric,  Mahindra Be 6 and Mahindra XEV 9e, Maruti eVitara, and BYD Atto 3. Meanwhile, the Sierra ICE and EV variants target the competitive compact SUV segment.
