Terra Charge, an EV charging infrastructure development company, has partnered with Prisum Rove Cabs, a ride-hailing cab service based in Noida, to establish an advanced charging station in Ghaziabad featuring 70 slow chargers of 3.3kW and one DC Fast Charger of 60 kW.
The chargers will leverage CCS Type 2 technology, which is compatible with currently 99 per cent electric vehicles in the country. The Japanese technology-backed park and charge facility will extend convenient charging solutions to Rove Cabs’ fleet.
The partnership, including an initial investment value of Rs. 2 crore, will enable Terra Charge to leverage Prisum Rove Cabs’ network to deploy more park and charge facilities.
The EV charger market is projected to grow at CAGR of 47 per cent by 2030.
Expressing his thoughts on the new partnership, the CEO of Terra Charge, Akihiro Ueda, stated, “Together, we will be able to deploy more reliable electric charging stations in strategic locations and expand our presence in the market."
Terra Charge has installed over 300 chargers across India to contribute to its charging infrastructure. It recently collaborated with GO EV Mobility, an end-to-end electric logistic solution provider based in Gurgaon, to develop an exclusive park and charge facility in Dwarka, Delhi, featuring 11 advanced chargers. Terra Charge is currently exploring more strategic alliances to contribute to the USD 449.06 million Indian EV charging market’s growth.
Adding to this, Sumit Varshney, Managing Director of Prisum Rove Cabs, said in a press statement, “I am also positive that through this strategic partnership with Terra Charge, Prisum Rove Cabs will move closer to its goal of achieving full electrification by 2025 while supporting the changing needs of the industry.”
The two companies are planning to establish more EV charging hubs across India to advance the nation’s sustainable mobility targets.
