Toyota Fortuner Revamped, Now Available In 2 Variants
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), on 6th January, rolled out the 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift apart from unveiling a new variant- 2021 Fortuner Legender. Just like the outgoing model, the revamped version of Fortuner is available with a 2.7-litre petrol and a 2.8-litre diesel engine. The refurbished Toyota Fortuner starts at Rs. 29.98 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs. 37.43 lakh (ex-showroom). The Legender variant, which is positioned as a city slicker, is priced at Rs. 37.58 lakh (ex-showroom). While the diesel version is now offered with an enhanced torque of 500nm, the 4x4 variants is also equipped with rear locking differentials
Commenting on the launch, Masakazu Yoshimura, Managing Director, TKM said, “For more than a decade, the Fortuner has proven itself to be the most dependable SUV becoming the top-most choice for customers across every corner of the country. The Fortuner witnessed demand despite the effects of the pandemic on the economy.”
The Toyota Fortuner has received a mid-life update after a long span of four years. Without sharing any sales projections, TKM affirmed that it will be able to maintain its market leadership in the midsize SUV category. It will be taking on Ford Endeavor (due for an update), MG Gloster (recently launched), Isuzu MUX, Mahindra Alturas G4.
Sharing his views, Naveen Soni, Senior Vice President, TKM, said, “We are anticipating great demand for our new offerings across all major Tier I, II and III markets in the country and have expanded our dealership network accordingly.”
The SUV comes with two drive modes-Eco and Sport and is also equipped with connected features such as geo-fencing, SOS, Real-time tracking, Last Parked Location, etc. The newly added comfort and convenience features include ventilated seats, an enhanced 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and an 11-speaker JBL music system. The infotainment system also comes with Android Auto/Apple Carplay connectivity.
