Toyota has officially introduced the fourth-generation model of its Harrier SUV. The 2020 Toyota Harrier can be launched in the international market in June this year. Toyota initially launched its SUV Harrier in Japan in the late 1990s.
The fourth generation of Harrier will be sportier than its previous generation due to its new TNGA platform. The automaker has given coupe look to new 2020 Toyota Harrier emphasized by a much longer bonnet which makes it look sleeker.
The new Toyota Harrier has a large central air-dam at the front, with chrome bands at the top and bottom. It gets a thin LED headlight and grille. The SUV gets new slim LED-taillamps with a light-bar at the rear. Along with this, a spoiler is positioned between the rear windscreen and the tail lamps.
The new SUV features a number of features such as the JBL Audio System, Electrochromic Panoramic Sunroof, Toyota Safety Sense Collision Mitigation System and Digital Rear View Mirror.
The cabin of the 2020 Toyota Harrier comes with all new dashboard design and features a mix of leather and brightwork replete. The car gets a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Touch-sensitive controls for the air-conditioner system and touchscreen are positioned below, and the start-stop button is located even lower. It also features a twin-dial instrument cluster with a large MID.
The 2020 Toyota Harrier Fourth Generation based on Lexus RX will get petrol and hybrid petrol engine options. The standard petrol engine is 2.0-liter, generates 171hp power and 207Nm torque. The hybrid variant gets a 2.5-liter petrol engine. The power of this engine is 218hp in 2-wheel drive mode and its power is 222hp in 4-wheel drive mode. Both engines will get the CVT gearbox. The company also confirms that the hybrid model gets a 100V AC / 1,500W accessory power outlet.
