South Korean carmaker, Kia India has unveiled the Syros, a compact SUV designed to enhance its presence in the Indian market. Following the success of the Sonet, Seltos, and Carens, the Syros brings advanced technology, practical features, and a focus on safety to the mid-size SUV segment.
Comfort and Space
Built on Kia’s K1 platform, the Syros is designed for comfort and versatility. Rear passengers benefit from sliding, reclining, and ventilated seats, a first in the segment. The 60:40 split rear seats add flexibility, while the panoramic sunroof enhances cabin openness.
The interior includes lounge-inspired design elements and a Harman Kardon 8-speaker audio system. The optimised suspension ensures a comfortable ride, and the longer wheelbase of 2550mm provides additional space for passengers.
A 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display Panel combines the infotainment system and instrument cluster for a seamless user experience.
The sporty alloy pedals, and 64 colour ambient mood lighting, Double D-Cut Steering Wheel, 4-Way Powered Driver Seat, creating an atmosphere of modern luxury.
Technology and Connectivity
The Syros introduces ADAS Level 2, offering 16 autonomous safety features, including Forward Collision Avoidance, Lane Keep Assist, and Smart Cruise Control. It also debuts first-in-segment Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, allowing real-time software improvements without visiting a dealership.
The SUV is equipped with Kia Connect 2.0, featuring over 80 connected car functions such as remote window ventilation and wireless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Engine and Safety
The Syros comes with two engine options:
Safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, and Vehicle Stability Management. A total of 20 high-standard safety features ensures robust protection for occupants.
Market Position
Kia aims to further strengthen its foothold in India, where it already has 15 per cent market share in the SUV segment to 20 per cent. The company has expanded its network to 700 touchpoints across 300 cities, with 200 added in 2024 alone.
Launch and Availability
Bookings for the Syros open on January 3, 2025, with deliveries beginning in early February.
The Kia Syros will be available in four standard trims and 2 option trims HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, and HTX+, HTX+(O).
