Automovill Gets Into Franchise Business Model

Started in 2016, car repair and service platform, Automovill has launched a new franchise model with the first franchisee in Pune by the end of May this year.

The company already runs two models- Spokes and Hubs. As per the new model, the initial stage is Spoke and the second stage is Hub, and now those Hubs will be eligible to become the company’s franchise.

The company says the new franchise model will follow basic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and criteria with a minimum of nine trained staff at a workshop, two lifts, washing area, paint booth and parking area to accommodate more than 30 cars at a time. The area of workshops could range between 6000 to 7500 sq. ft. but might be beyond 15,000 sq. ft. based on the city and the number of vehicles.

In the Spokes business model, workshop owners are independent of working with any players, however, Hubs are largely controlled by Automovill and are established at strategic locations. Whereas, in the new franchise model Automovill will have a 100 percent control.

As of now, Automovill has a presence in 20 cities with direct retail customers in Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Patna, Jaipur and Guwahati. The company is eyeing to launch 30 franchisees by the end of this fiscal year and up to 110 franchisees across 30 cities by the end of 2025.
