As part of Cummins’ centenary, visitors to stand B-174 at the Excon show celebrated 100 years of technology, with a display of the company’s wide array of products for the construction segment in India. Cummins continues to strengthen its positions and offering in the infrastructure development sector as it proves fully integrated power solutions, Cummins India showcased QSF4.5 Bharat Stage IV CEV and the QSB6.7 Bharat Stage IV CEV engines catering to the Off-Highway segment at EXCON 2019.
Cummins QSF4.5 Bharat Stage IV CEV engine is available from 121–173 hp. They come with more power and torque, are less complex and easier to install, and require less servicing. The QSF4.5 engine is the latest addition to Cummins India’s extensive range of dependable engines and products. It is a new generation 4-cylinder engine ideal for use in various off highway and construction applications upto 173 hp range. QSF4.5 has EGR Free Architecture (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) which provides best in class power density and customers will benefit from exceptional performance and low operating costs, with the reliability and durability expected from Cummins The QSF4.5 comes with single module aftertreatment to meet BSIV emissions which can be easily scaled to meet BSV norms without requiring any new development in the equipment. The QSF 4.5 off-highway engine is a step ahead of the curve and powers applications of every type of equipment, including construction, mining, material handling, oil & gas, power generation and more.
Also featured was the QSB6.7 Bharat Stage IV CEV engine power unit available from 173-260 Hp. Cummins QSB6.7 is the new generation 6-cylinder engine providing optimum performance for India duty cycle requirement. QSB6.7 provides best in class power density which helps engine downsizing to provide better TCO to the end customers without sacrificing on the performance.
Cummins also showcased their SCR aftertreatment systems - Single Module™ & Flex Module™. The 9” Single Module™ is up to 60% smaller & 40% lighter than competitor modular aftertreatment systems with improved NOx conversion efficiency that removes over 99% of all PM by weight and count & improved thermal management capabilities. Both the aftertreatment systems minimize proliferation & reduce downtime.
Cummins enables its customers to increase machine capability and offer more value or downsize engines to reduce cost. Being EGR free, it offers higher reliability with lower running costs. The engine is suitable for many applications including wheel loaders, excavators, dump trucks, fork lift trucks and empty container handlers.
The wide array of power solutions showcased also featured the Cummins® X3.6 series rugged engine and world class Stamford alternator powered diesel generator set (40Kva) with advanced in-cylinder technology to meet latest emission norms without any after-treatment device.
Speaking on Cummins’s participation at EXCON, Ashwath Ram Managing Director Cummins India said - “Cummins engines do more with less. For operators, our engines deliver higher performance for more machine capability. Simpler architecture means more reliability, and more productivity. Additionally, our improved fuel efficiency with extended service intervals drives fewer running costs, and what more interesting is that Cummins delivers all of this while meeting the stringent emission norms.”
