Continental Unveils Self-sealing Technology Tyres

Premium tyre manufacturer, Continental Tires has introduced the PremiumContact 6 (PC6) tyres and ContiSeal technology. The company also showcased Gen3 Truck Radial tyres from Continental’s commercial vehicle range.

PremiumContact 6 Tyres

Designed to meet the diverse and demanding conditions of Indian roads, the PC6 is engineered with advanced technologies to ensure unparalleled safety, performance, and comfort. Key technologies include:

• Macroblock Technology: Delivers exceptional stability and enhanced cornering control, providing sporty performance without compromising vehicle control.
• Silica Compound: Enhances grip on both wet and dry surfaces, making it a reliable choice for Indian drivers, whether navigating monsoon-drenched roads or enduring extreme summer heat.
• New Asymmetric Pattern Design: The new asymmetric rib geometry of pattern provides higher pattern stiffness and reduced block deformation for better grip under the effect of lateral forces

The PremiumContact 6 is available in Rim Sizes- 17 to 20 inches and is available at Continental Tires outlets across India.

ContiSeal Technology

ContiSeal technology is transforming tyre safety by eliminating the need for immediate roadside assistance in case of punctures. Unlike traditional tyres, ContiSeal ensures uninterrupted journeys, offering drivers peace of mind on both city streets and remote highways.

This self-sealing technology automatically seals 85 per cent of tread punctures caused by objects up to 5 mm in diameter, such as nails or screws. A specially engineered viscous sealant layer inside the tyre instantly encapsulates the puncture, preventing air loss and maintaining tyre integrity. Even if the penetrating object dislodges while driving, the tyre remains sealed, allowing drivers to continue without losing pressure.

Unlike conventional tyres that depend on additional systems like spare wheels, ContiSeal integrates a mobility solution directly into the tyre. This eliminates the inconvenience of carrying or relying on a spare wheel while providing superior safety and comfort.

With features like a flexible sealing layer that spans the tyre's inner liner and immediate puncture sealing, ContiSeal exemplifies Continental’s commitment to innovation. It offers a seamless, worry-free driving experience by prioritising driver safety and convenience in all circumstances.

Expanding Product Portfolio for Commercial Vehicle Applications in India

Continental Tires continues to cater to India’s Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (MHCV) segment with a product range designed for both cargo and passenger applications. These tyres are engineered to excel in Highway, Regional, and On/Off-Road scenarios, addressing diverse transportation needs.

Building on the existing portfolio, the Company has introduced two additional sizes: 295/90 R20 and 235/75 R17.5, along with performance enhancements under our Construction Portfolio.

• 295/90 R20: Available in 5 advanced tread patterns, this size is tailored for Hybrid and Regional applications. With a higher load index and optimised tread patterns, it aligns with market demands by focusing on reducing operational costs for transporters.
• 235/75 R17.5: Specifically designed for Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) buses and trucks, this size offers optimal mileage and durability, meeting the expectations of customers prioritising long-lasting performance.
